The kink in the hose as an analogy to the vertebral subluxation
This vintage drawing depicting the effect of a vertebral subluxation was published by Dr BJ Palmer in "The subluxation specific - the adjustment specific"
The garden is deprived of water due to the kink in the hose; without knowing that the kink in the hose is the cause, one would add water from another source as a treatment. That kink on the hose is depicting a vertebral subluxation as defined by chiropractic principles; it is usually silent and non observable by someone outside of the chiropractic profession, which explains the treatment by supplying water from another source. The chiropractic solution, recognising the presence of a vertebral subluxation, is to deal with the kink, in this analogy, the vertebral subluxation. The garden returns to normal state as does the living body free to function normally again.
